The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) comprises the two Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macao, and nine cities in Guangdong including Shenzhen and Huizhou.

The GBA is a key strategic blueprint in Mainland China's development, having great significance in the country's implementation of innovation-driven development and commitment to reform and openness.

As one of the engines for regional development, Shenzhen is expected to make use of its leading role as a special economic zone, a national economic core city, and a national innovation city.

Huizhou, the second largest city in the GBA by area, thrives as a centre for electronics manufacturing, petrochemicals, and tourism.
